news, press | 17. May 2011 EVVA plants seven trees of knowledge in Vienna
Knowledge creates security. In cooperation with "vienna knowledge space", EVVA has installed seven trees of knowledge at Vienna's Praterstern, between the underground exit and the Riesenrad Ferris wheel. This forest of knowledge on the subject of security is open to everybody between May 20 and June 23, 2011.
– "There's nothing I need to know. I know enough already.“
– "If a thief wants to break into my home, he'll get in anyway no matter what I do."
– "I can do anything I want on the Internet. What could possibly go wrong?" There is generally a huge difference between believing and knowing. Established mind-sets are difficult to change. However, anyone who learns new things and exchanges ideas with others will know more and make better decisions. That is precisely the aim of the "vienna knowledge space" and its trees of knowledge in public spaces. This public utility platform creates barrier-free access to important questions of a knowledge-based society.
Why become wise after the event?
The "Knowledge and Security" exhibition was designed in
cooperation with EVVA, one of Europe's leading security technology manufacturers. Each of the seven trees contains three leaves which provide valuable knowledge on a specific aspect of security, such as
- Security in the home
- Security at work
- Security on the road
- Security on the Internet
- Security in neighbourhoods
Prevention protects.
Anyone who knows that most burglars act spontaneously and are not professional in any way or that there are considerably fewer burglaries in areas with neighbourhood crime prevention schemes can take fundamental steps towards creating greater security. Prevention protects and gives you piece of mind The trees of knowledge in Praterstern bring this knowledge to a public space and into the public consciousness. Between May 20 and June 23, 2011.
