At Pichelmayergasse Grammar School in Vienna, around 100 teachers instruct around 870 pupils in languages, new media, music and natural sciences.
The Pichelmayergasse school centre combines two different school types. One, the 'Realgymnasium' provides pupils with an education which focuses on natural sciences and musical creativity. In contrast, the other, the 'Gymnasium', requires linguistic abilities of its pupils.
Sturdy, convenient, multi-functional – ICS von EVVA
The Pichelmayergasse School also organises events, and uses its gyms and sports facilities for sports meetings and end-of-year events. A well-conceived locking plan ensures that unauthorised users can only open certain doors with their keys. Particularly sensitive areas, such as chemistry labs and computer rooms, can only be opened by authorised users. The reason for this is that operators must be able to establish quickly which particular users can unlock particular doors in places where there are many keys in circulation. Requirements are high in schools as locking systems must protect against vandalism, allow for extensions at any time and guarantee key copying protection. Respective door situations must also be taken into account while also providing for restricted access .
EVVA's ICS (Inner Code System) offers all of this and much more. The reversible key system impresses due to its convenient operation and distinctive design. The special nickel-silver alloy ensures the ICS is exceptionally hard-wearing.
Optimum convenience and security
The school and its security team held a consultation meeting with EVVA to receive comprehensive expert guidance. The school would only work with an experienced supplier which has been providing security technology for educational institutions throughout Europe for decades. This is not the only reason the school principal, Norbert Schrank, places his full trust in the security experts EVVA. 'Our priority was to offer the best possible protection for our pupils and users. The sophisticated locking plan also means we do not need so many keys.'
ICS also meets many requirements regarding convenience: The reversible key system enables the key to be inserted into the cylinder from both sides. Its ergonomic design means it is easy to handle as the specially shaped key bow ensures users can also open stiff doors without needing to apply much force.
A combination of three different blocking technologies provides a high level of security. In addition to the time-tested curve and pin system, the interior key bits also guarantee optimum security - they make it almost impossible to copy the key
EVVA's provides guaranteed, high-grade protectection for the Pichelmayergasse School - against unauthorised access, grime and wear.
