news, press | 22. March 2007 EVVA honoured for sustainable work!
The commitment of EVVA towards social welfare, business and the environment was recognised at the "ÖkoBusinessPlan" gala on 15 March.
Sustainable thinking and financial management are now buzzwords on everyone's tongue. The desire to act responsibly is easily said. But only too often does this pious intention go no further. Sustainability is part of the company philosophy at EVVA. By this we mean actions that are in line with the needs of today's generation and that do not endanger the opportunities of following generations. It is a question of accepting social responsibility and not only determining values, but also living them. Sustainability creates trust for the future.
Examples of sustainable activities at EVVA:
- Support of social projects,
- promotion of the health of employees with e.g. fitness programs and in-house physiotherapy for back problems,
- covering the cost of journeys to work for those employees who commute,
- free-of-charge training courses ("EVVA Academy"), awarding of grants,
- 9 different working time models to strengthen family bonds,
- first-class environment management - "Ökoprofit-Auszeichnung der Stadt Wien" (Award of the Ecological Project for Integrated Environmental Technology in Vienna)
- complex water treatment system,
- high priority assigned to waste prevention and recycling (recycling quota already at 66%!)
- intensified energy saving measures,
- close partnership with local suppliers, complaints management …
Recognition for EVVA
The "ÖkoBusinessPlan" gala on 15 March 2007 saw EVVA, as one of the pioneers in sustainability, recognised for its efforts. The ÖkoBusinessPlan is a program run by the City of Vienna with the aim of promoting sustainability. We are extremely glad to have this prized recognition. It attests to our commitment so far and, at the same time, is a spur for future ambitious projects by EVVA.
