EVVA equips Klagenfurt Regional Hospital with mechanical and electronic security solutions.
One of Europe's most modern health care centres is currently being built in Carinthia, Austria. Klagenfurt Regional Hospital is set to feature new wards, outpatient departments, surgery departments, intensive car units, laboratories, a laundry, a kitchen, a pharmacy and much more over 50,000 m². Requirements for such a hospital are too complex for many locking systems, but not for EVVA security technology.
EVVA, a security systems expert for hospitals
Managers required a complex mechanical and electronic locking system supplied by a single provider. An important prerequisite was that the new system needed to incorporate the existing identification media.
The different requirements within this medical centre also posed a particular challenge. Ensuring all aspects were included called for a special solution which, in the end, only one company could provide: EVVA.
5,000 users conveniently managed
- EVVA's electronic access control system XS4 and
- its mechanical locking system 3KSplus(3-Curve System)
ensure greater security and convenience for Klagenfurt Regional Hospital. A total of 5,000 users, from building technicians and nursing staff through to interns and senior physicians, have access to rooms and areas they are authorised to enter. Cards and EVVA's special Combi key are used as identification media and serve to operate both the mechanical and the electronic locking systems. Users require just a single identification medium. Access authorisations can be modified and re-issued at any time with the easy-to-use XS4 management software. This ensures the system is highy flexible, an essential advantage in highly complex locking systems such as those in hospitals
Wireless technology saves on costs
185 e-cylnders have been installed in Klagenfurt Regional Hospital to date. The e-cylinder is part of the XS4 product line and an ideal solution for special access situations such as glass doors. There is no need to spend time and money on extensive wiring, as e-cylinders control access authorisations offline with the help of the XS4's virtual network. Online components are provided on specific doors to restricted areas which require surveillance in real time.
3KSplus allows for complex locking systems
Most doors in Klagenfurt Regional Hospital are secured mechanically, with EVVA's 3KSplus locking system. 3KSplus is a particualrly secure system and very popular worldwide.
Klagenfurt Regional Hospital thus relies on EVVA's many years of expertise for both its mechanical and electronic systems, yet another reason to feel that you are in safe hands.
