news, press | 07. January 2010 Security in times of crisis and beyond.
The change is highly visible:
Companies are developing into networked communications centres with several security levels. The traditional single family household of the past has become a lifestyle sanctuary with sophisticated equipment and appliances. Our society and its requirements have become more complex, particularly when it comes to the increase in security and comfort needs.
Where now for security systems?
Is there a security solution which can actually integrate and meet a whole range of different requirements? What exactly do people expect of security technology in times of economic crisis and changing values? Professional service providers such as EVVA are showing the way. An ideal combination of mechanical and electronic security systems is what makes today's security technology really stand out. In which areas of a company or a private home is it best to use mechanical locking systems and in which areas is it best to use electronic locking systems? Costs also play a role in this respect. A decision is best based on appropriate, personal customer guidance. This is where expectations and wishes are identified, as an interesting study vividly shows.
Survey on security: what companies really want
The research institute INTEGRAL and security systems manufacturer EVVA asked companies from a wide range of sectors - hotels, public administration, industry, services, energy, health care and education - what criteria are important to them when they acquire security technology. The results are enlightening: Criteria regarding products:
Great importance is not only attached to innovations, but also, more than anything else, to 'time-tested products'. In short, security systems should be reliable and straightforward, and not cause any problems. 'Failure-free operation', 'durability' and 'easy management' are cited as particularly relevant criteria across all sectors. Criteria regarding providers:
It is precisely in times of insecurity and crisis that qualities which really count come to the fore once more, the qualities which are often forgotten when things are going well. 'Guidance before purchase', followed by 'individual assessment of needs' and 'quick response times' are the most important issues for companies when choosing their security system provider. A reliable partnership is the most important aspect, not a quick, impersonal sale. These are criteria which should be a matter of course, but this is often not the case on the market.
The future of security
Innovations undoubtedly play a key role in security technology. Manufacturers such as EVVA are constantly working on new product developments for tomorrow's needs in their in-house research departments. Technology is not the only important element, however. A sophisticated solution is no use without individual customer guidance. If the technology doesn't take requirements into account, then it is a costly, pointless expense. At EVVA, we base our consultancy concept on the so-called trinity principle: convenience, organisation and security. Every security solution takes into account these three cornerstones during the planning stage. This enables us to determine the most cost-effective approach possible for companies and private individuals. When we speak of future security requirements, we should not only have technological product innovations in mind, whatever the needs are. Personal advisory services, individual solutions, time-tested products, reliable partners and trust are other aspects which play a role in getting through times of crisis and ensure future successes are even possible.
