proNACHBAR is an independent Austrian initiative for safer neighbourhoods. The association works closely together with the police and informs its members by email about current criminal activity in different districts and communities. proNACHBAR also provides valuable advice on security in numerable media interviews and TV appearances. Such advice really works, as Karl Brunnbauer, proNACHBAR founder and association chairman, points out, "Statistics confirm that our initiative makes an impact: For instance, burglaries have been reduced by 40 % in the original proNACHBAR area!“
proNACHBAR's declared goal is to reduce the excessive number of break-ins by providing better information and communication. Preventing burglary is also one of EVVA's greatest concerns, as CEO Stefan Ehrlich-Adám (MA) explains, "The proNACHBAR initiative with its close involvement with the police and the general public is carrying out pioneering work! It informs neighbourhoods about the current risk of break-ins locally and about suitable security measures.
